History
The business began back in 1977 when Murray made men’s toupees in a spare room at home. Eleven years later he began creating full cap prosthetic hairpieces for women and men with alopecia areata, totalis, universalis and androgenic. Wanting to give customers the benefit of vacuum cap security without the use of tapes or adhesives, Murray and Averill oversaw extensive research and development, resulting in Freedom Hair’s permeable silicone caps. Since then, hundreds of men and women throughout the world have discovered new-found confidence and freedom.

About Me
Nicky Bratton
The wearing of a Freedom Wig has given me the ability to live life the way I want to. I’m now in a position to help people through this sensitive time, having empathy with their situation. Also my 20 years experiences in the hair and beauty industry allows me to give further support to clients at this challenging time.
I started having alopecia at the age of 27, when I became pregnant with my first child, it was an extremely happy time in my life but unfortunately I was not very well with pregnancy. The hair loss started off in small patches then after time it grew back. I then became pregnant with my second child and at the end of the pregnancy the hair started to come out even more, over time I lost all my hair, eyebrows and body hair.
The wigs gave me:
- Security: No sliding and no dislodging
- Comfort: No more scratching and scalp irritation
- Looks: Hair that looks, feels and behaves like the real thing
